I think
1984 by George Orwell is on some list-of-books-you-should-read-before-graduation-from-high-school, but I don't always subscribe to those lists. :) However, this really is one of those books that you should read! It sort of reminds me of
Fahrenheit 451 in the sense that it's futuristic, and the government is (say this with sarcasm) "helping" its people by controlling what they hear and see. Scary, but interesting. You can see elements of it in today's world.
there is one book i read and it was about four kids one was white, black, hispanic, and asian. They were the only people of their race because some scientist merged races together and everyone one in society was all of those combined
ReplyDeleteWow! I don't think I've heard of that one. Sounds interesting. I think if that were possible in reality, everyone would still be able to find a reason to hate another group of people. I went to Belize once and although they have distinct racial groups (including native Indians), there is no racism. It's hard to imagine that when it's so prevalent here.
ReplyDeleteracism and hatred against homosexuality are the big ones
ReplyDeleteThat reminds me--have you read "Perks of Being a Wallflower"?
